Baptism, the first sacrament of initiation, prepares us to celebrate the Eucharist.  Families wishing to prepare their children for initiation are asked to contact the Parish Office.



First Penance and Communion

The Sacraments of First Penance and Communion are celebrated
when a child is in Year 2 or seven years old (or older).

First Penance and First Communion Information - 2021

The Sacrament of First Communion is given to children who have reached the age of reason,
which is accepted as seven years old, that is, when a child is in Year 2. [Canons 913, 914]

Prior to receiving First Communion,
children are to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance [Reconciliation].

In order to prepare for these Sacraments,
there is a preparation program consisting of the following:

Parent Meeting                       Tuesday, 12 October at 7:30pm

Penance Classes 1 and 2             Tuesdays, 19 and 26 October, 3:45pm to 5pm

Sacrament of Penance         Wednesday,  27 October at 7:00pm

Eucharist Classes 3 and 4           Tuesdays, 9 and 16 November, 3:45pm to 5pm

First Communion at either of the weekend Masses on ...
    27 November or 28 November
... or
  4/5 December ... or  on a later we
         depending on NSW Health Regulations

Reconciliation Book Instructions will be emailed to those who enrol.

Parent Information for First Reconciliation will be emailed to those who enrol.

Eucharist Book Instructions will be emailed to those who enrol.

Welcome to the children who will participate fully in the Eucharist for the first time,
by receiving Holy Communion, the Body and Blood of Christ.



The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Bishop Brian
on Tuesday and Wednesday, 22 and 23 June 2021
to Year 6 (or older) students.

Penance (Reconciliation)

The healing Sacrament of Penance or Reconciliation is available before the Saturday Vigil Mass (usually 4:45pm to 5:15pm) or by appointment.




Marriages are celebrated regularly, and six months notice is required, so that the necessary paperwork and Marriage Preparation Course can be completed.



Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is celebrated regularly:  during the 9:30am Mass on the First Friday of each month (except January).
