SUMMARY:Special Mass for ALL SAINTS DAY
LOCATION:325 Lawrence Hargrave Dr\, Thirroul NSW 2515
DESCRIPTION:📅 Special Mass – All Saints’ Day 🕊️ Saturday, 1st November ⏰ 9:30am 📍Parish of St Michael Church, Thirroul Join us Saturday, 1st November at 9:30am in celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints, a joyful feast honoring all the saints—known and unknown—who have lived lives of holiness and now share in God’s glory. 🌟 Let us gather as a community to give thanks, seek inspiration, and pray for the grace to follow their example of faith and love. All Saints Day really means ALL Saints All Saints Day was originally celebrated on 13 May, although the origin cannot be traced with certainty.  Pope Boniface IV formally started what would later be known as All Saints Day on 13 May in 609ad when he dedicated the Pantheon in Rome as a church in honour of the Virgin Mary and all martyrs.  The current date of 1 November was established by Pope Gregory III during his reign (731–741ad) when he dedicated a chapel in Rome’s Saint Peter’s Basilica in honour of all saints.  While this celebration was originally limited to Rome, later in 837 Pope Gregory IV ordered the official observance of All Saints Day every 1 November and extended its celebration to the entire Church.  While many canonized saints are celebrated with their own individual day, saints that have not been canonized have no particular holiday.  All Saints Day recognizes those whose have attained heaven, but their sainthood is known only to God.
